Load the blender: Add the milk first, then the frozen banana, peanut butter, cocoa powder, and vanilla.
Liquids at the bottom help the blades catch everything easily.
Sweeten and season: Add maple syrup or honey if your banana isn’t very ripe. Toss in a small pinch of salt to sharpen the chocolate and peanut butter flavors.
Blend until smooth: Start low, then increase to high for 30–45 seconds. Scrape down the sides if cocoa clings to the jar.
Adjust texture: For a thicker, spoonable smoothie, add a few ice cubes and blend again.
For a thinner drink, splash in more milk.
Taste and tweak: Add a touch more cocoa for a darker chocolate note, or an extra teaspoon of sweetener if you prefer it sweeter.
Serve immediately: Pour into a chilled glass. Garnish with a sprinkle of cocoa, a few cacao nibs, or a drizzle of peanut butter if you like.
